Editorial policies and publication ethics

Author Contributions and Authorship Guidelines

This section provides guidance for authors on correctly listing all contributors, their affiliated institutions, and their specific contributions in the article. Our authorship policy guarantees proper credit for all intellectual contributors to the research, while also ensuring that authors and contributors assume responsibility for the final published work. All individuals involved in academic research must be clearly identified either as named authors (appearing in the byline with their contributions detailed in the statement) or as contributors acknowledged in the acknowledgments section; only those who have made substantial contributions to the research and manuscript preparation qualify as authors. Any practice of obtaining authorship through payment or compensation without genuine substantial contribution is regarded as unethical and strictly forbidden.

Author affiliations

Authors are required to list the primary affiliation as the institution where the research was principally conducted and completed; additional current or secondary affiliations may be added as supplementary entries in the submission system. Any falsification, misstatement, or intentional misrepresentation of institutional affiliations—such as listing non-affiliated or former institutions for reputational gain or to disguise the actual research location—violates core publishing ethics and will trigger editorial review, potential retraction, and notification to the relevant academic institutions.

Publication Ethics & Academic Misconduct Policy

PIONEER ACADEMIC adheres to strict publication ethics standards, outlining best practices for academic publishing and clear definitions of scientific, academic and publishing misconduct to maintain the integrity of research. All authors are encouraged to carefully review the following policies to ensure their submissions meet the required criteria. Should any misconduct be confirmed, we reserve the right to take appropriate actions including rejection of manuscripts, retraction of published articles, and further coordination with the relevant institutions.

Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism refers to the act of presenting existing published work as one’s own original research content. PIONEER ACADEMIC only accepts and considers for publication original manuscripts that have not been formally published before, and any submission found to involve plagiarism or duplicate content will be rejected directly. In line with COPE guidelines, authors are required to enclose verbatim text extracted from other researchers’ publications in quotation marks and provide corresponding citations, and this requirement also applies to the reuse of authors’ own previously published works to prevent improper duplicate publication.

Post-Publication Allegations & Policy Breaches

Should PIONEER ACADEMIC identify any evidence of policy violations in published articles, the journal will conduct investigations in accordance with standard procedures and applicable retraction guidelines. If you suspect that a published paper may have been produced by paper mills, you may reach out to the journal by following our established complaints and allegations procedures.

Funding Transparency Policy

All authors must fully disclose all financial support and funding sources received for the research in the funding section of the manuscript, including relevant grant numbers where available. All PIONEER ACADEMIC publications are available as open access under the CC-BY license, which meets or exceeds the open access requirements set by most academic institutions and research funders worldwide. To support standardized funding transparency, PIONEER ACADEMIC submits all funding-related information to the Open Funder Registry operated by CrossRef, a unified identification service jointly developed by academic publishers and funding organizations.

Article Correction Policy

PIONEER ACADEMIC acknowledges its obligation to address scientifically relevant errors in published articles. Corrections may be submitted when a small part of a valid publication is misleading, a figure error does not change the study conclusions, statistical inaccuracies do not alter the results, figures are incorrectly labeled, an improper microscopy slide is used, or the author and contributor list is inaccurate due to omitted eligible authors or ineligible contributors. All corrections must be submitted through our official submission system; authors are recommended to use the provided Word template, clearly state the reason for correction in the relevant statement, and format the submission title as “Correction: [Title of Original Article]”. If errors occur during the publishing process, please contact the PIONEER ACADEMIC production office directly.

Territorial Dispute Neutrality

PIONEER ACADEMIC maintains a neutral stance regarding territorial descriptions, maps, and author affiliations in published content. All territorial statements expressed in articles represent exclusively the views of the authors, and do not necessarily reflect the positions of their affiliated institutions, the publisher, editors, or reviewers.
